Meet Deo, a remarkably clever and resilient cat who gave Astoria Cat Rescue quite the challenge. For five days, our team attempted to trap this smart feline, who seemed to understand exactly how our traps worked. After days of effort and coordination, we finally captured Deo and immediately took him to a foster home. Deo arrived with severe neck injuries and a noticeable wobble. At the vet, he proved difficult to handle, receiving antibiotics and topicals for mites and fleas. Further examination revealed polyps in both ears, a large cut on his neck, FIV positive status, and complete deafness due to ruptured eardrums. Despite these challenges, Deo's spirit remains unbroken. He is now safe in his foster home, receiving the care he needs. Deo’s journey is a testament to the perseverance and dedication of our rescue team and his incredible resilience.
